Vasse Village records traffic landmark
May 2, 2018
Vasse Village continues to gain momentum with a record number of vehicles visiting the newly established village centre.
In the first three months of 2018, traffic recorded passing through the Vasse Village entrance roundabout increased by 29 per cent when compared to the final three months of 2017.
Vasse Village developers said the increase was in line with expectations following the opening of Coles’ impressive 3500sqm supermarket and liquor store in November last year.
“Passing traffic has tripled since the same three month period in 2017. Data collected is showing that the number of vehicles passing the village centre during the 12 month period from March 2017 to March 2018 is over 5 million vehicles”, said Alex Meares, Vasse Estate Project Manager.
“Earlier this month Coomidup Boulevard also opened, connecting Napoleon Promenade and Bussell Highway and making it even easier to access all of the amenities in Vasse Village.
“We are seeing the benefit of having a national supermarket open in our main street, which attracts both residents and passers-by into our village.
“We have also seen a flurry of activity recently with local businesses and traders popping up throughout the Village mainstreet including Vasse Village News & Lotto, Newtown Chinese, the medical centre, pharmacy, physiotherapy practice to complement McDonald’s and the Coles Express service station, all adding to the vibrancy and welcoming feel of Vasse Village”.
Vasse Village’s picturesque boulevards, landscaped sidewalks, natural beauty and country charm create a sense of vibrancy and welcoming feel to shoppers and visitors.
These design aspects are at the very core of the design of the Vasse Village experience, one that is drawing traffic and the passing population to the area.
“It is anticipated that traffic flows will continue to rise along Bussell Highway due to ongoing development and tourism in the South West. This will be supplemented and enhanced with the continued development of Vasse and the new Vasse Village”, said Sam Hanson, Hanson Property.
“The Vasse Village development has the distinct advantage of being in a prominent and highly visible location with current traffic counts indicating high exposure for current businesses and available commercial opportunities”.
