Vasse Village News & Lotto opens in Vasse Village

Giftware, toys, stationary and magazines are among the wide variety of items lining the shelves of the newly opened Vasse Village News.

Having opened just over four weeks ago, Vasse Village News & Lotto is already firmly establishing itself as part of the community.

Owned and operated by the Callow Family, who has served the South West for over 44 years with their newsagencies, Vasse Village News is managed by Sue Callow.

“I’ve worked in the newsagency business most of my life, having helped my parents, Ted and Liz Callow, in the shop while growing up and returned to the family business 17 years ago”, said Sue.

“My favourite part of the job is getting to know my customers. You form relationships and friendships with regular customers, many of whom you meet daily, sometimes twice or three times a day!

“A bustling newsagency is at the heart of any village and Vasse is no different. We are located in the centre of the village, opposite Coles Supermarket, with access from Napoleon Street and also from the rear car park and are open six days a week.

“As well as looking forward to seeing your customers every day, it is gratifying to see friends, neighbours and members of the community meet each other at your store and connect.

“The community are delighted that we are here and we are seeing people change their habits and shop locally in Vasse, being able to get everything they need right here in the Village.

“We are still building our full range of stock in store but have access to all stationary, magazines and products that are available at Callows Corner News in Busselton and can order individual requests for our Vasse customers.

“While we are looking at expanding our giftware, children’s crafts and activities and toys, we want the community to tell us what they want from their local newsagency.

“We are also hopeful that we will have our first division one lottery winner at Vasse soon.

“Callows Newsagents have had multiple division one winners over the years and we believe lotto luck will strike again”.

Magpie Coffee Café also recently opened on Napoleon Street and is another venture into Vasse by the Callow Family, under the management of Tracey Callow.

Offering freshly prepared food from local produce and locally roasted Yahava Coffee, Magpie Coffee Café has something to tease all tastebuds.

The reasons to visit Vasse Village continue to grow with a number of businesses now serving the local community alongside Vasse Medical Centre, Vasse Pharmacy, Latitude 33.7 Physiotherapy, Newtown Chinese, Coles Supermarket and McDonalds.

Vasse’s vibrant main street is attracting locals and visitors alike with many exciting new retailers expected to open in the coming months.
